Are you about to write off a whole quarter?

I don’t want to freak you out, but with less than 6 weeks until Christmas, many businesses are running the risk of losing a whole quarter of productivity.

Here’s what this looks like:

  • People are starting to check out now and put things off until the ‘New Year’. This means a slowdown from 6 weeks before Christmas, lights out until mid-Jan and virtually no progress until February. That equals one quarter.
  • If most of your team is off from 20 December to mid/late January, you’ll be lucky if they’re productive again much before February.
  • Given the corporate world doesn’t wake up again until February, by the time momentum gets going again it’s March. This gives you about 4 months to win any big deals or execute any major pieces of work this financial year.

I don’t know any business that can afford to write off a quarter in the current economic environment.

If you’re planning on heading into the holiday period without a draft strategy or game plan, your return to work is going to be rough.

I’m not saying, don’t take a break. Just to prepare and make it easy to get going again – and to let your subconscious do a little work and come up with great ideas while you’re walking on the beach.

Here’s how:

  • Time-block 1 hour every week before Christmas and write down your game plan for 2025. Start now.
  • Capture your ideas, thoughts, goals and key relationships.
  • Write down what you’ve achieved this year and what you’ve learned.
  • Do the high priority work immediately.

This is about making the most of the next 6 weeks and setting yourself and your business up for success.
